Elman Magsud oglu Akhoundov was born in Ganja in 1963. He graduated from the faculty of production processes automation at the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute in 1985. He worked at the Space Research Scientific Development and Production Center and finished postgraduate studies at the Institute for Cybernetics Problems of the Academy of Sciences of USSR in Moscow. He is married and has two children. Mr. Akhoundov is the founder of a private enterprise IMAS, chairman of the Board of Directors of IMAS Group of Companies.

IMAS is the exclusive distributor of Cuhadaroglu in Azerbaijan. The company’s activities cover the production, trade and assembly of materials (steel, glass, aluminum). The equipment at IMAS comes from leading European firms such as Elumatec and Lisec, among others. The company has an 11 years of experience on the Azeri and Russian markets performing construction and aluminum- glass-construction activities. Among the company’s activities in Baku are: participation in the construction of the National Parliament building of Azerbaijan, Horse Club, International Bank, Orient Palace, McDonalds, Murat Sanar Plaza, the main office of Azersun Holding, Automobile Dealerships Peugeot and Mitsubishi. Among the company’s activities in Moscow are the construction of the Crocus Expo, Crocus Stock, Istra Private Housing Construction, Aurora restaurant and casino on Jangar pond, Canbepel boutiques, J. Lo, Le Silla and Fornarina, among others. IMAS is participating in the construction of a new Baku bus service station, the Theater of Young Spectators and the main offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Baku.

IMAS cooperates with leading international companies, such as Siegenia, Savio, Giesse, Metra, Velux and Mitsubishi Chemical. The company’s plans include expanding into the markets of Ukraine, Turkey and China.
